Plans and quotas

What each plan includes, how usage is counted, and what happens when you reach a limit.

Last updated · May 17, 2026 7 min read

Loquira bills based on language-hours — one output language active for one hour. A 90-minute session with 3 languages uses 4.5 language-hours. A 90-minute session with 3 listeners all using the same language uses just 1.5 language-hours. Audience size doesn’t affect cost — only the number of languages you offer. For a deeper explanation of this model, see Language-hour pricing model.

This page explains how each plan works, what counts toward your usage, and what happens at each limit.

Free plan

The Free plan is a one-time trial to experience Loquira before committing. It includes 2 free language-hours that never expire — use them whenever you want. Once they’re used, you’ll need to upgrade to continue.

What you getLimit
Language-hours2 (lifetime, never resets)
Listeners per session25
Languages per session3
Session duration1 hour
Concurrent sessions1

The translation quality on Free is the same as on paid plans — we don’t reduce quality to push upgrades. The limits are about how much you can use, not how well it works. See Sessions and codes for how session codes and limits work together.

How usage is calculated

Your usage is based on how long you’re actively speaking and how many languages are in use:

Language-hours = streaming time × number of languages ÷ 60

  • Streaming time — the total time your microphone is active during the session
  • Languages — the number of distinct languages at least one listener is using (see Supported languages for the full list)

Example: A 1-hour session with 4 languages = 4 language-hours.

Overage — what happens when you go over

Each paid plan includes a hidden safety buffer so live sessions are never cut off mid-event. The buffer is not part of your advertised quota and no overage charges apply. If you exceed your monthly hours, live sessions continue without interruption. New sessions are only paused once the buffer is fully used.

Beyond the buffer, new sessions are blocked until the next billing cycle or until you upgrade. Existing live sessions always continue to completion.

What it feels like when you hit a limit

Limit reachedWhat happens
Language-hour bucket used upA hidden safety buffer kicks in automatically, then new sessions are blocked
Too many listenersNew listeners see “Session at capacity”
Too many languagesExtra languages are greyed out in the picker
Session time limitYou get a 5-minute warning, then the session ends
Concurrent session limitYou see a prompt to upgrade your plan

Monthly allowances reset on your billing date. Unused hours don’t carry over.

Upgrading and downgrading

Upgrading takes effect immediately. Your new allowance is prorated for the rest of the billing cycle.

Downgrading takes effect at the end of your current cycle. You keep your current plan’s limits until then.
