Sessions and codes
How session codes work, how to share them, and what happens when a session ends.
Every Loquira session has a short, shareable code that lets listeners join. If you haven’t run a session yet, start with Getting started. This page explains how codes work, how long they last, and how to manage them for recurring events.
Your session code
When you start a session, Loquira generates a unique 6-character code — something like xq7m2p or b3k9wv. The code is designed to be:
- Easy to say aloud. Short, distinct characters that work even in a noisy room.
- Easy to read at a distance. Six characters stay legible on a projector or screen.
You can customise the code after creating the session if you want something memorable for a recurring event — like summit24 for an annual conference. The custom code just needs to be unique among your active sessions.
The QR code
Every session also generates a QR code that contains the full join URL. Listeners who scan the QR skip the code entry step entirely — they just pick a language and start listening.
The QR is refreshed each time you start a new session, so a printed QR from a previous event won’t work for the current one. For practical tips on sharing codes and QR in a live setting, see Host a multilingual meeting.
How long a session lasts
A session stays live from the moment you press Start Presenting until you press End Session. During that time:
- The session code and QR are active and anyone can join.
- Translation runs continuously as you speak.
- Your live transcript builds in real time.
When you end the session:
- The code and QR stop working — no one new can join.
- The full transcript becomes available for you to download.
- Everything stays in your dashboard until you choose to delete it.
Restarting
If you end a session and start a new one, you get a new code. Loquira doesn’t reuse codes across sessions.
For recurring events — daily standups, weekly seminars — share a fresh code each time through your calendar invite or group chat. The code changes, but the workflow stays the same.
What your plan allows
Different plans have different session limits:
| Plan | Session length | Listeners | Languages |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 30 minutes | 5 | 2 |
| Starter | 3 hours | 50 | 5 |
| Pro | 8 hours | 100 | 8 |
| Max | Unlimited | 350 | 25 |
Every plan delivers the same translation quality — the limits are about how much you can use, not how well it works. See Plans and quotas for full details on each tier.
