Privacy Policy
How Loquira collects, processes, and protects your personal data.
Last updated · May 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Loquira ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, discloses, and protects your personal data when you use our realtime speech-translation service (the "Service"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in a transparent and secure manner.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you register for an account, we collect your email address, a password (stored as a salted hash), and optionally your display name. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Lemon Squeezy — we do not store full payment card details on our servers.
Session Audio and Transcripts
During a session, audio from the speaker is transmitted through our infrastructure to provide realtime transcription and translation. The audio stream is:
- Processed in real time by our speech-to-text provider (Deepgram)
- Translated through our translation provider (Google Cloud Translation)
- Synthesised into speech through our text-to-speech provider (Google Cloud TTS)
Transcribed text is stored in our database and is available for download by the session owner. Raw audio recordings are not retained after the session ends.
Usage Data
We collect session metadata (duration, language tracks, listener count) to calculate billing, monitor service performance, and improve our product. This data is not used to identify individual listeners.
Device and Connection Data
We collect browser type, operating system, and connection quality metrics to troubleshoot issues and optimise the WebRTC streaming experience.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect for the following purposes:
- Providing the Service — to process audio, generate translations, and deliver translated audio streams to listeners
- Billing — to calculate language-hour usage and process subscription payments via Lemon Squeezy
- Service Improvement — to monitor performance, diagnose technical issues, and develop new features
- Compliance — to comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
3. Third-Party Data Processors
We engage the following sub-processors to deliver the Service. Each processor is contractually bound to process data only for the purposes we specify and in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
| Processor | Purpose | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Deepgram | Speech-to-text | Audio stream |
| Google Cloud Translation | Translation | Transcribed text |
| Google Cloud TTS | Text-to-speech | Translated text |
| Lemon Squeezy | Payment processing | Billing information, payment data |
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Transcripts are retained for the duration of your account and are available for export at any time. Session metadata (duration, language count, timestamps) is retained for billing and analytics purposes.
If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
5. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights:
- Right to access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data
- Right to restrict processing — request limitation of data processing
- Right to data portability — request transfer of your data to another service
- Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@loquira.com. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Data Residency
Our infrastructure is hosted on Hetzner in the EU-central region. Our third-party processors (Deepgram, Google Cloud Translation, Google Cloud TTS) may process data in various regions including the United States and the European Union. Where transfers involve personal data of EEA residents, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
7. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS 1.3), encryption at rest, network isolation via Kubernetes NetworkPolicies, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email and by posting a notice on our website. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
9. Contact
